Nurturing Empowerment, eXcellence, and Transformation for Youth (Project NEXT)
Samaritan North Lincoln Hospital (SNLH), a CCCWN partner in Lincoln County, received a Rural Health Care Services Outreach Program grant from the Federal Office of Rural Health Policy with the Health Resources Services Administration (HRSA) for $1 million to be spent over four years (August 2025 – July 2029). The grant supports Project NEXT which aims to improve the behavioral health and well-being of youth and young adults in Lincoln County, OR.
Partnerships & Grant Activities
Project NEXT involves a partnership between the following organizations:
- Lincoln County Health and Human Services
- Lincoln County Community Justice
- Samaritan North Lincoln Hospital
- Samaritan Treatment and Recovery Services Newport
Grant program activities fall under the following Goals and Objectives:
- Goal 1: Expand delivery of accessible evidence-based behavioral health services.
- Obj 1: Increase access to counseling through integration into school-based health centers.
- Obj 2: Increase access to peer support services for substance use disorder and/or mental health conditions.
- Goal 2: Expand delivery of behavioral health education and outreach.
- Obj 1: Provide Botvin’s LifeSkills Training to school-age youth.
- Obj 2: Expand behavioral health outreach in the community.
- Goal 3: Expand access to safety net services and emergency housing.
- Obj 1: Increase access to shelter and safety net services.
- Goal 4: Develop and sustain innovative, multi-sectoral approaches to ensure continued services.
- Obj 1: Establish formal project infrastructure to meet deliverables.
- Obj 2: Provide effective communication to stakeholders and community.
- Obj 3: Identify and coordinate resources to sustain services.
