Bridges to Recovery

In 2019, Samaritan North Lincoln Hospital (SNLH), a CCCWN partner in Lincoln County, received a Rural Communities Opioid Response (RCOR) Implementation grant from the Health Resources Services Administration (HRSA) for $1,000,000 to be spent over three years (September 2019 – August 2022). The grant supports the Bridges to Recovery project which provides substance use disorder/opioid use disorder (SUD/OUD) services in Lincoln County, OR.

Partnerships & Grant Activities

The Bridges to Recovery Project involves a partnership between SNLH, Samaritan Pacific Communities Hospital (SPCH), Lincoln County Health and Human Services, the Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indians, Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, ReConnections Counseling, Communities Helping Addicts Negotiate Change Effectively (C.H.A.N.C.E.), Equinox Clinics, and other community organizations.

Grant program activities in Lincoln County include:

  • Distribute naloxone to partners and community members and train on how to use
  • Conduct a SUD/OUD stigma reduction media campaign
  • Provide SUD/OUD training through continuing medical education (CME) classes open to physicians, pharmacists, providers, behavioral health workers, nurses and social workers
  • Increase SUD workforce including registered nurses, case managers, harm reduction workers and peer recovery mentors
  • Develop an office-based addiction treatment center
  • Revitalize Community Efforts Demonstrating the Ability to Rebuild and Restore (CEDARR) coalition by expanding the membership to be fully inclusive of all recovery identities
